We’ve developed sophisticated filters.
Modern Americans are faced with more information in a single day than your ancestors did in their entire lifetime. Literally. We are all suffering from extreme information overload. In response we have developed highly sophisticated filters (in the default mode network of our brains) to process that tsunami of information. We separate each element into categories of what matters and what doesn’t. When these filters work well we are only aware of - and conscious of processing - less than 1% of what we encountering in any given moment. This is a problem for businesses trying to stand out.

At S&N we have mastered the art and science of breaking through those filters.
In addition to the classic blend of design, marketing and business experts that typically make up the agency ecosystem - we staff experts with advanced degrees in psychology and neuroscience. As a result, our messaging goes deep. It connects because it is rooted in the things that authentically interest us and hook our attention. It builds trust, fosters loyalty and drives users into predictable, measurable action. We understand how to identify and amplify the elements that answer the deeper needs of their demographic to whom we are speaking. We focus on the precise point where messaging (art), human behavior (science) and commerce (business) intersect - and it makes our work dramatically more successful than the competition. 1) Clarity: Talk, listen, brainstorm, whiteboard it all out. Get all the bottom line and utopian, aspirational goals out there.
2) Strategy: Develop a plan of action that honors the full range of possibilities, as well as the budget and timing constraints.
3) Execution: Produce the assets and deliverables that will be needed for the next phase of growth.

Yes, at S&N we have worked with the biggest and best, but thing is… helping to convince the public that - for instance - their life won’t be complete without Apple’s latest iteration of mind-numbing, addictive tech is soul-crushing, dishonest work that we collectively reject.

Encouraging people to turn away from the quiet, steady, inner voice that should guide them, and instead into patterns of distractions and consumption as a solution to their discomfort is - to everyone our team - unethical work. So we stopped.

We choose to work only with those who endeavor to make a positive impact on the planet and the creatures who depend on it.
